Default High Rpm at start up and in park.

Im getting 2000-1500 Run's at start up and about 1500-1200 in park. It goes down eventually and idles at about 800-900 in gear. I have replaced the Tps twice (one was a mopar and died in 6 months),spark plugs, wires, had a crack in the manifold welded, dist cap, roter, Iac, and cleaned throttle body.Any ideas what this could be???

THis happend to me today. Take the IAC (idle air control) out and clean it. I had to screw mine out a couple of times to get the engine to calm down.

What do you mean by "screw it out a couple of times"?

I'm just telling you my experience: Once you take IAC out there is a nipple or piston that can be screwed in and out(carefully) I've heard some say not to twist it...I am not sure if it's ok to twist or not. But I cleaned mine and I guess twisted it. Today out of no where the jeep's rpm's jumped up to 2200 at idle when I started the car. SO, i took out the IAC and unscrewed the piston until it was flush with it's housing. Once I put it back in, everything was ok.

just tried.. it kind of worked, but when I took it for a spin my Rpm's got super low and it started to idle really rough. Came home and took it out. It was extended far and the piston is now crooked. Looks like I'm getting a new one in the morning haha.
