heres one: dash lights only work when rear defogger is on

Default heres one: dash lights only work when rear defogger is on
just as title states. the dash lights on my 1997 xj went out one night, then i noticed that they only work when the rear defogger is on!?!?!?!?? Anyone run into this before?

Sounds like the Rear Window Defogger Switch illumination circuit is powering the Instrument Cluster Illumination Lamps.

Check #6 fuse in the Junction Block.

Remove fuse and closely examine it to see if the fuse is blown. If in doubt, replace the fuse.
