Help, vacum hoses Renux 4.0
Hey guys, relative bought an XJ. Its a 1990 with the renux, so its a little different from mine. He has these 2 hoses that arnt connected in the engine bay. A blue one with a rubber end on it and a clearish/yellow one. One comes out of a rubber gormet in the firewall, the other comes out of the wiring harness. Can someone check their XJ and see where they go to?

In the area you are looking mine is going to the heater control valve and the other goes to the vacuum bottle in the front, both go in the firewall to the heater control valve, mine is an 89 but I think they are the same. Hope this helps

Yes he has vaccum disconnect axle. Thanks for the info guys!, I'll forward it a long and hopfully figure it out.
Do you mean it goes into the vacum canister thing? The blue or the other? I'm just trying to get a good feel where to look for a plugin. That yellow/clear one could be broken off, i dunno.
Thanks again,
T

You'll have to trace them out to see where they go, but one will be for the CAD on the front axle (big wart-looking thing on the left side axle tube) and the other is for the HVAC blend door (your vent only works on "Defrost" at the moment, wherever you put the selector, right?)
They should run from the vacuum reservoir in the left side of the front bumper, and should connect to something in between. That "flying saucer"-looking dingus, by the by, is a vacuum check valve - a one-way valve for nothing (to make sure that the nothing doesn't go the wrong way and screw things up...)
