Default HELP!!! Transmission trouble

I believe I may have lost my overdrive gear on the way to work this morning. I was driving down the highway at 65mph and the Jeep dropped down a gear raised to 3500 - 4000rpm and would not exceed 60. Any ideas? I checked my fluid and the level seems ok, however something is not right. the Jeep has 124,000ish miles. Any info would be great as I have access to a lift at work and I could at least look under it well.

unplug your tcm and see if your jeep runs thru all the gears manually.

if it shifts good thru them manually the tranny is ok and its either a sensor or the tcm.

if it doesnt shift thru the gears good manually, the i would say ur tranny needs replaced or rebuilt

Possiblly a dumb question.....

Would this be done with the Jeep running?

Also run from 1 - 2 - 3? - D..... Correct?

It's been a while since ive manually shifted an auto....

Default The plot thickens....

I drove home a different route (not requiring 60+ mph speeds) and there was no issue with the overdrive. There was one instance pulling away from a light that it felt s though I was starting in second gear. It was very sluggish off the line than had to get up to 3500rpm before moving at any real speed. This does seem like a TCM issue. I looked at it and unplugged and replugged it a few times to insure a good connection. The lower dash plastic was cracked in that area. I think my wife may have kneed the dash over the weekend while we were wheeling in Hocking Hills (at least I hope). Any one got a good TCM sitting around in a parts Jeep? Just in case....

Default Throttle Position Sensor

I have been having trouble with my Transmission acting funny. It would shift fine but when I let of the gas a little then push it back down It felt like it was in neutral for a second then It would catch and go on. Also when I would let off gas and push it back down the engine would hesitate. Changed the Throttle Position Sensor and it runs like new. 37.99 @ AutoZone

Yes, it does. You lost overdrive or torque converter lockup?
