Help Please snapped iat off !!

i was installing my new intake temp sensor then it snapped off in the manifold. i eventually got the thread out but stripped the threads into the iat housing. Now What??!! i have installed a diy cold air intake so i cant move my sensor to the stock air box because its not there, :brickwall:

Can you put a rubber plug pipe in the hole
then drill into side of cold air intake tube?

Or remove the intake manifold and heili-coil the hole to replace the sensor. I wouldnt heili-coil it on the car though. Would not want to risk getting aluminum chips in the engine.

When I was removing the threads from the broken iat sensor chips did fall Into the manifold...should I change my oil? What's a rubber Plug pipe?

if ANY metal fell in it, you've now earned your way inhto an intake manifold removal.

that in mind, you can just get a junkyard manifold, swap it in, scrap your old one, and call it good.

you'll need a good shop vac to vacuum out the ports.

changing the oil will not help. the piece fell into the manifold and head if you turned on your jeep

Re intake

If you have been running it for 3 days the aluminum peaces of the threads have already gone the head and done what they are gona do.....plugging the hole is the easiest.....but changing the intake from one from pull a part is a good idea .........how did you strip the first one were you using a German torque wrench hahaha say this in your best German accent gouud annn tight

Lol no It was a cheap pos one, it wasn't even halfway in and the sob snapped. I stripped the intake out by tryin to get the end of the iat out. I plugged the hole and moved the sensor to my cold air intake. :)
