Help ! My jeep won't start
I have a 1991 Cherokee XJ 4.0 5 speed. love it, and never had any starting issues. I started it up this morning to go to work and everything was fine. after work \i went to go home and when I turned the key all it did was click once. every time I turn the key I hear a ckick. the lights are bright and the battery condition indicator is green indicating the battery is charged. tried to jump it off and the same thing, Click when I tried to start it. it sounds like it is the starter but I am not sure...any one else ever have this happen ?

Give the starter a few good smacks with something hard AFTER you make sure all the electrical connections are solid and not full of corrosion.

thanks guys, it was for sure the starter. I got a new one and put it in and everything is good again. I tested it with info I got from this site. I jumped between the little post to the big post on the left, that made the seloniod energize....so that was good, and then when I jumped between the small screw to the big post on the right, the starter motor should have turned, but it didn't indicating a bad motor....got a new one, and all is well again...problem solved...thanks.
