I went to the gas station and all was good . I shut the jeep off and the lights stayed on because of the delay so I turned the jeep on turned the lights omanuely and the lights went ofF and it was fine so I went to pay and came back out and when to went to drive off I tried to turn on the lights and the dash came on but no headlights I looked at the fuses and didn't see any blown I can't really tell but I did smell something before like burning electronics so I am wondering if this has happed to any one else . It's a 96 classic.

could be that relay or the headlight switch.

I looked at the fuse box under the hood and inside the dash and didnt see anything like a bad fuse or sticky relay?

On mine which is an 89 there is a timer under the dash left side of the steering wheel,it is silver. you should have the same timer,unplug it and see if helps.

that happened with mine, new headlight switch, order one online for like13$ or the dealership can do it for you and charge 250$ its not hard to replace just frustrating because of the location. its tight with big hands but you can do it just google it
