help get hood open

The handle to open the hood must have snapped, and now i cant get my hood open...tried pulling the cord and still wont open. I cant seem to get to the hood, i tried pulling the grill off and still no luck, is there another way im missing, how else can i get the hood open with out the handle inside ???

hopefully that does help. When I first got mine the hood woulding open no matter what I did. Finally I resorted to cutting the hood upp with a chopsaw.
