Default Help: Door Lock Cylinders 89XJ 2 Door

Hoping that someone can help with this....

I need new door lock cylinders for my 89 Jeep Cherokee, 2 door, with power locks and windows (and mirrors). Some ***** toasted my drivers door look by jamming a big screwdriver into it. I ordered a new set of lock cylinders on line but they were not the right ones. I went to my local Lordco parts guy and all his catalogues show the same wrong cylinder sets (seems to be a theme).

I went online again and found what I think are the right ones (http://teamcherokee.com/door-lock-cy...ler-1981-1990/)

but the trim ring isn't black like the originals. Anyone know where I can find a set of black trip ringed door cylinders that are the correct fit? Thanks for any advice.

PS: I supposed that I could just buy one lock cylinder and have it keyed to the existing key if that's possible. Any suggestions there?

I found the OEM black cylinder online at 'factory chrysler parts' for $26 for one cylinder and $40 shipping. Ouch!

Just remove your black trim ring and use on new lock. I got chrome on mine dont look bad or just paint it b4 install...Those moper ones are uncoded also...so theres more expense at lock smith.

Hi Freegdr. Thanks for your note. Unfortunately, the black ring is thrashed from the original break-in.

At this point, I going to try and buy one from the dealer and swap in the pins from the old lock - although they may be shot - I'm waiting to get a new lock in had before I cannibalize the old one - not really sure why I'm waiting since it's completely shot. . If the pins are shot, it's pretty easy to grind/cut uncoded pins to make them work (I think).
