Default Help!!!! Core support bolts all broke

hey guys,
im doing a radiator swap on my XJ and all of the 10 mm bolts holding the core support broke off. I’m kinda at a loss on what to do? Can I replace them, if so with what? Do I have to drill them out?

thanks any help is much appreciated

Holey bad news Batman.....I mean phooey, that sucks. More info or picks might help us help you. Usually if a bolt breaks it's a sign to re-evaluate, not keep breaking....... Sheez! I don't really know the specifics of your situation. One option might be to get whatever you are doing done, then use self drilling/tapping screws.........From ACE

Or remove whatever they are broken into and try to extract the carnage..

A pic would be great but if its the four on top 2 on each end and one on the inside on each end you can take a punch and tap the nut that they screw into out of the uni body then heat and remove the bolt while in a vise and replace the nut. Doing one you will understand the nuts are pushed in and sort of a pinch fit.

These here on the top radiator mount bracket? Pretty small to try to drill and use an extractor. I might try drilling out the busted to a larger size and taping the holes for the next larger bolt. Or, see in the pic "body bolts". Some number of them here and there should hold that bracket OK.

Try an EZ Out.
One of mine is also broken but I have just enough threads to maybe grab it with vice grips. If not, EZ out and if that doesn't work, I guess drill it out and tap it for one size bigger.....

Really PITA but at least they are easy to get to...

Plenty of options at the hardware store for securing something that you can't get to the back of. Get creative.

Yeah, like drywall moly bolts. The ones that spread out on the back and have machine screws in them. BIG ones, like to mount a TV or mirror on the wall.

I did a radiator change not to long ago on my XJ (mine being 18 years old) and everything being pretty much factory..
I had to go without a couple bolts because the originals were rusted so bad that when I went to replace them the bolt head snapped off from the main threads.
I honestly did not know what to do, but sense it was only a couple bolts the entire radiator change I didn't really worry about it, but in your situation you need help
dang... that sucks..
