After how many inches of lift are drop brackets or different control arms suggested

Depends on who you talk to. Some would say above 3.5", others would say 4.5". Definitely 5" though

The idea is to have your lower ca's as level to the ground as possible. Look at how the are now. If they are a steep angle then, drop brackets would be an improvement on the street and trail.
