Question Help with The Blower Motor Resistor

So, my 1998 XJ's blower motor only works on high, so I know the resistor needs to be replaced. However, I need help with these things:

1. Where is the resistor? Is it behind the glove box?
2. It appears there are several types of blower motor resistors for my Jeep. Which one do I pick?

Thanks in advance. I don't know much about this and figured this would be the best place to ask about it.

Okay, it's behind the kick cover under the glove box. loosen the top 2 screws, remove the lower 2 screws, pull down on the cover to disengage the top tabs that hold it in place and remove it. Pull the plug on the resistor and remove the 2 bolts holding it in. I've never done this, but this is directly from my Factory Service Manual for the 2000 XJ. You'll have to see which one you have after you get it out.

BTW, the way it's wired is the motor is wired hot and the speed switch grounds different resistance taps in order to change speeds.

Make sure the wiring that connects to the resistor is good as well. There is a tendency for the motor to go bad and cause the wiring to the resistor to melt. If you find any evidence of melting/overheating in the wiring or connector you will also need to replace the blower motor.

Mine did the same thing. Quite simple to do once you locate under your glove box.
This is what my old vs new looked like.
