Help! Alternator Field Switching Improperly?

Help! Alternator Field Switching Improperly?
i got the code off my jeep that says Alternator Field Switching Improperly, when i got the jeep it needed a serpentine belt and alternator so i replaced all that with brand new stuff, it runs fine and everything but the volt gauge thinger on the instrument cluster shows in the red which is like 19 or something, any help please, thanks.

Check it at the battery and see what it actually is,should be 13.5 approx. Matbe just a guage problem. If not it is controlled by the pcm and you have to replace the pcm.

alright ill see what voltage its getting at the battery, and if the pcm was bad wouldnt there be other problems also other than this? what is that power control module or something and do you know where its located, thanks

i finally put a multimeter on it and its 14.5 at idle at the battery while the gauge said 18 lol...hmmm
