Default Help

my jeep is making a screeching noise when I take my foot off the gas and coast. It will stop when I get to a low speed or apply the break.

Then just today my driver door open warning came on but the door was shut. My windows wont roll down and I cannot lock the doors.

Any ideas on either?

First, what year is your Jeep and with what engine/trans setup? Second is the noise a metallic screeching, a whistle, or a squeal?

its a 2004, v-6, automatic. The sound is more like a squeal then anything.

Sounds like the tab they put on the brake pads to warn that they are getting worn. It's a small steel tab that rubs against the rotor when the pad isworn to a certain thickness and the squeal is to annoy the owner to have them checked

If its a squeal it could more than likely been a loose surpintene belt. Try that and see if it works.

your problem with the windows and doors is probably a fuse, check your fuse box for any fuses that might have blown.

I was going to say the same thing. Pull a wheel and give the pads a look.
