Model: Cherokee (XJ)
Engine: Renix 4.0
Heater Hose Replacement
I have a 1990 XJ with a 4.0. I have had two heater hoses blow this winter and want to replace the rest. I also replaced the heater valve and that branch.
I'm wondering if anyone (Cruiser
) has a part number for the other branch, mine is rusty and nasty looking.
Also, would it be better to use crimp fittings instead of hose clamps? I can get them and the tool through work at a discount if they are that much better.
I will have the cooling system flushed after I replace everything.

Do away with the valve and use the later model heater hoses...if you can do that on a RENIX closed cooling system.

I always swap crimp clamps for the stainless steel hose clamps. They're much much much easier to remove next time. They don't imbed in the hose as much

I would have eliminated that valve.
At this point with the closed system I'm thinking get stock replacements.
