Heater Blower TS Help Pls
1990 XJ Laredo 4.0l w/AC
Searching did not yield any troubleshooting steps for the blower or the blower motor resistor. Do not want to replace parts unnecessarily. Checked for DC voltage at BMR connector, have voltage at low and high switch switch settings. Pulled blower motor connector and connected directly to battery. Blower did not spin. Is this telling me the motor is bad? Resistance checked at blower connector is 1.4K I have power to the resistor and motor appears to be ok. How do I test the BMR to isolate it as the cause. BTW NAPA parts search only shows a BMR for XJ's w/o AC. O'Reilly parts search shows one for XJ's w/AC priced at $19.99. Blower Motor pricing Approx' $30.00 NAPA, O'Reilly or AutoZone. TIA for any and all replies. Any assist greatly appreciated, Troy |
Blower is bad. Try a JY if you don't want to spend $30.

That's what I thought when it didn't spin connected directly to the battery. |
