Default Headlight switch acting up, instrument panel, marker and brake lights don't work

Hello. 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Noticed the headlight switch started to kind of stick and the headlights would come on sometimes, sometimes they wouldn't and I would have to toggle the switch back and forth until they did. Now, interestingly enough, the headlights are the only ones that come on and the rest of them don't, including the instrument panel. Fuse looks good. Any thoughts would be appreciated. My next move as of right now is to order a new switch and replace. Think they're like 13 bones on Amazon. Thanks!

I had an aftermarket switch from O'Reillys put in my '87 back last November.

Very long story short, I ended up replacing it recently with an OEM MOPAR switch I ordered from Jeep.

I think the aftermarket/China switches that are sold nowadays are made so cheaply they won't carry the load. Short on life and long on frustration.

Get one from Jeep. They cost more, but are well worth it.

the switches can be of poor quality and do exactly that. Get a good switch and swap them out. While in there, double check the plug where it connects to the switch and make sure nothing is melted / corroded
