Default Head Gasket

My over fill for my radiator bottle bubbles up after I drive it its done it twice now I changed the water pump a couple weeks ago and I did not bleed the system because everyone I asked said it would bleed it self but since its bumbling does it mean that my head gasket is blown?

Do you have a closed system or 91+ open?

Sounds to me like pressure has built up from not bleeding the system.

it possible but i would get the "turkey baster tool" to test first.
sorry for the "" but im not sure what it is called, it just looks like that but it is used on your cooling system to see if there are engine gases it the system.

I took mine to a radiator shop he pressure tested mine and did a carbon test which basically smells for for exhaust fumes in the radiator. It was only 30 bucks I wouldn't pay more than that if I did take it in.

What do you mean the "radiator bottle bubbles up". Do you mean that coolant flows into the overflow bottle after you turn the engine off?

Properly functioning '91+ open systems will self bleed if filled properly.

Seems like air is coming into the overflow bottle while the coolent level drops some

If you fill the radator to the brim and power/brake it with the cap off, and get steady bubbles, a bad HG can do that. That test won't tell you if it's good, but it can be pretty clear if it's bad. Once I had a geyser shoot up and hammer the hood!

In my experience if the HG lets 2000* gasses into the coolant, the Jeep overheats. I suppose a small enough leak might not. X2 on the "sniffer", I guess a smog machine can detect hydrocarbon in the coolant also.

Was me I might do a wet/dry compression test. Handy to know those numbers anyway for down the road.

Consider a new cap?

Alright it was bubling when it was parked on a hill now when its parked on flat its fine.....? But I'll get it tested at work tomorrow just to make sure its not blown and would a head gasket always cause over heating?

If there is antifreeze in your engine oil, that's a dead giveaway.
