head bolt torque?

hey, can anyone tell me what are the numbers by the book to torque my head bolts to, and is there a special pattern? I have my new head all machined and rebuilt, ready to go. Had 4 bad valves so I'm excited to see how much power it'll have when it's put back together.

Get a service manual and follow the torque sequence. Haynes and Chilton's both have the proper procedure outlined.

There's more to it than just torquing the bolts down to the final value.

FWIW, your head bolts should only be re-used once. after that you need to but new ones.

ARP has some really great info on their site reguarding proper torque procedures.
