Default Head bolt pattern 4.0

Alright Guys I searched the forum and only got the head bolt torque.
Says 100lbs. and then I did a google search and got lots of different torque specs and patterns.
Anybody have the correct specs on this?

Thank you.

looking at you head from the driverside...here is the tightening sequence (start at 1 and work your way out)

12 8 4 1 5 9 13
11 7 3 2 6 10 14

step 1...tighten all bolts to 22ft/lbs
step 2....tighten all bolts to 45 ft/lbs
step 3....recheck all bolts at 45ft/lbs
step 4...tighten all bolts except #11 to 110ft/lbs, then tighten #11 to 100ft/lbs...

Dont forget on #11 to put thread sealant on it cause it goes in a water jacket.

Removal sequence is not important.

Hey guys I know this is a pretty old thread and a pretty stupid question, but is 1, 5, 9. etc on the drivers side? I am assuming so but I want to be sure.

Great reminder... I almost forgot about this yesterday when I put my head back on and torqued it. Something else... Might want to start the back bolt on the driver's side in the hole before you slip the head in there. You ain't gonna get it in later if you don't.

I noticed the stud extensions on the outside head bolts were shorter on the my old bolts, ans could get #14 bolt off without any problems. Found out the new ones were too long, but had already put head on block. No problem, hack saw some of the stud extension off & hit to with thread cutting die. Heck of a lot easier than taking head off again, and still plenty of thread for ground strap attachment.

By the way, this thread was very useful to me today, thanks.
