Having trouble getting my kick panel below the steering column off

I have a 2000 Right Hand Dr. jeep XJ, I have remove three screws, and couldn’t find any others, but it still won’t come off, it looks like it would be the hood mount cable that you pull to open the hood, but it’s riveted in . Anybody have experience in getting this panel off? I’m trying to replace my tilt steering wheel cable.

There should be two screws on the right underside corners, one behind the ash tray and several across the top of it

There are metal compression clips at the upper corners of that panel securing that panel to the dashboard. You need to pull the panel straight away from the dash.

If the 2000 is the same as the 98 and 99 I have (And flipped of course since yours in RHD), there will be three screws along the bottom and then like MXDNSport said, there are metal clips hat get released by pulling it away from the dash.

Then if I remember correctly you will have to unscrew the metal plate behind that.
