Default Hatch ajar light

So earlier this morning i was putting a bag into my trunk and i noticed the latch on my hatch had gotten lose and the hatch light was on, so tonight when i get home from work i go ahead and readjust and tighten it, however upon doing so i have discovered that for some reason now my hatch light comes on when the hatch is closed and turns off when opened, now i found it very strange that my latch had come loose as i had never had it rattle loose before and last time i messed with it i had tightened it quite well so is it possible that someone messed with the latch in an attempt to break in or something and failed?

I wouldn't be suspicious unless there are clear signs of tampering. My rear cargo light has always had a mind of its own. Right now it comes on when I lock the cylinder. For a long time I could make it come on by kicking the kick panel Occasionally the front headliner lights will come on when I reconnect the battery. Click the button on your light and see if the behavior changes.
