Default hard start and boggs out

i was driving down the road and my xj started to bogg alittle when i gave it some gas but was still running fine and would take off fine when i got home it would rev up with no problem so i really didnt think to much of it but when i tried to start it up later it was taking forever to start. it finally started then it died then it did it a second time so i started it up and tried giving it gas and it would just sputter and bogg. but it would stay running once it gets warmed up itll idle fine but when i try and go it sputters and boggs to take off i have to baby the hell out of the clutch and can only give it about 1/4 of the gas pedel or itll start sputtering and fall on its face and if i give it more then about 1/2 pedal while im driving the rpms drop to idle. and when i come to a stop the idles will drop low and itll almost die but it catchs itself. any ideas on what it is or what i should check i was think maybe the map sensor?

so i finally got back around to messing with my cherokee tonight and the voltage on the map sensor slowly climbs and if i unplug it while its running it acts no different so im pretty sure its bad. i also check my fuel filter and my fuel pump and there both good. so should i just replace the map now or is there somthing else i should check first?

mine is doing the exact same thing except mine is an 89 and automatic. my fuel pressure regulator was leaking...replaced that still bogs, replaced fuel filter, and map sensor but it still bogs when i put it in drive but in neutral and in park it will only idle without the map sensor vacuum line plugged in

Maintenance manuals have the actual test procedure for the map sensor.

And be sure that the vacuum line leading to the map sensor is pulling good vacuum. If it isn't, the map sensor will not work.

Schrader valve should have high pressure of fuel.

Test your fuel pressure. WITH A GAUGE.

You should see 31 psi at idle, then disconnect the vacuum line leading to the fuel pressure regulator and the pressure should jump to approximately 39 psi. Start there.

started checked the sensors plugged into the throttle body and took off the iac and it looked horrible full of carbon and gummy oil stuff so i cleaned that and it started up faster and idle smoother and stayed on longer but it eventually bogged down again. so im going to replace because i think it isnt working properly.
