When shifting from any gear in the auto trans the whole jeep lurches and cluncks into gear. This happens really badly when I park on slopes too. What could be the cause of this? bad rear end? bad trans? U joints are brand new so I know it isnt that. Thanks.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
Check your ujoints and mounts, apply the parking brake before putting the transmission into park when on hills or inclines.
