Hard shifting
 

My old XJ grinds when shifting into reverse. Transmission also shifts hard when at a stop and shifting into first or second. The clutch was done 40,000 miles ago with new throwout bearing and all. Transmission fluid hasn't been changed since. What might be wrong?

first thing id do is check the fluid if not change it ,also bleed clutch for any air not allowing full release of pressure plate
