are half doors worth it?
 

i like my xj to stand out from the rest of them, so i was thinking of half doors for the summer. the doors would just be for driving around town not for trail for fear of ruining my interior. i have herd that the stock doors are hard to remove and i'm sure that matching the door colors to the rest of my xj might be hard, not to mention that i would have to buy 4 junkyard doors, and i dont even know if they are legal in ohio. also i have herd a long debate that the stock doors might be needed for structural support. am i really missing out on some fun by not owning a yj or would i just be wasting my time?:dunno:

Removing the dooors are easy.
You can just get the front doors to make half doors out of.
the strure wil be fine you dont really need the doors
should be legal if you have mirriors on them.

My doors remove exactly like a soft top on a wrangler, just lift and go. They were made to do this. The side doors I'm not positive but have little structural support the back hatch on the other hand. Never remove that unless you want the top of your Jeep to look like the leaning tower of pizza!

The only structure doors provide is side collision, and even that wasn't improved until 93 or 94... The window frames of the doors add nothing. Add a mirror to the halfdoor and wheel it...

how do u pull the doors off easaly i wanted to but i was afraid that if i unbolted them i might have a nightmare gettin them to go back on:confused:

my hinges are modified, but it makes the doors sag like old hinges, Not bad at all but just a little.

My door stops are disconnected. I also have to have a plug in each door for the power windows and locks. I just unplug them to take the doors off then plug back in for the stuff to work.
