Ok I have a 1987 cherokee 4.0 5spd

This is a weird one

This doesn't happen all the time. Only sometimes.

The motor will surge and struggle when I have the turn signal on. And it's in sync with the blinker. I've tried it going straight. I've tried it turning a corner or changing lanes. And I've tried it at idle. It's most noticeable when I'm giving it gas changing lanes or going around a corner. It's like when the turn signal lights up the fuel pump shuts off. And like I said its in sync with the blinker.

I have a theory. But I wanted to hear what you guys think about it.

I didn't have the same exact problem on my 87 4.0L, but I was chasing down a part throttle hesitation/misfire. It too also seemed to be worse around corners but it was also present on straight acceleration. I can't say that I noticed it having anything to do with the turn signals. I changed alot of parts and finally what it came down to was either the O2 sensor or the vacuum harness. (Both were changed at the same time just before the problem was solved) Good luck! These Renixes can be a little tough at times, but run great once you get them dialed in.

Move to New Orleans. Nobody uses their blinkers.
