Default Got my JY Neon Injectors today... YAY!

I got my 703 injectors out of a 96 Neon with the 2.4l and a 95 stratus 2.4l. Im so excited about putting them in I can hardly wait. But theres a problem, I got them home and they look smaller then the ones that are on it now. All the injectors that I pulled were the 703's from the neon/stratus as I stated before. Ive looked on some other threads and that Aussie Jeep Forum and they all said that these injectors would fit. Can someone tell me this IS true that they will fit and its not just my imagination saying that they wont fit.

703's are supposed to fit. Just do a search and you'll find ALOT of threads about the neon injectors.

The length is shorter or the body of the injector is smaller? If the body is smaller they will work, doesnt really matter about the body as long as the length, plug and nozzle ends(both) are the same you can swap and go.

Default injectors

I recently purchased a 2001 sport with 179,000 on it, stock 3.55's and 31's. After a couple of steady 12.5 mpg tanks, I started looking for options. The easiest thing I could find was the Neon/Stratus Injector swap. I heard anything from 1-5 MPG in the reviews, and was intregued. I figured even if I could gain 1mpg steadily, that it was worth it for the money in the long run. I was careful to note how I drove before and after the swap, a mixture of mostly 45-55mph country cruising, and daily commuter stop and go.

I pulled the Injectors at the yard, (4 out of a 98 Stratus, and 4 out of a 00 Stratus...both with the 2.4l) They are all Chrysler part no. 04669938. Be careful with the Dodge Neon with the 2.0l as opposed to the 2.4. Just because they are the same year, and they have similar looking injectors, doesn't mean they are the same PN. They are too short.
sorry 1 this not from me but from Clutchkimball.

Looking for these injectors gave me a headache! LOL. I swear I looked in 50-75 junkyard Neons and Stratus's and have yet to see the plugs everyone keeps talking about. I have found many that seemed to fit the bill but ended up being the "shorter" ones Rickster mentioned. (By the way I have a set I grabbed by accident which are in perfect shape if anyone wants them cheap lol) I did find some Neons with fuel injectors that were EXACTLY the same as the stock XJ injectors for my 1994 Cherokee except they have 4 holes at the top instead of 1. I know these arent the "upgrade" ones everyone talks about but I sawpped mine out for these and they do seem to give a bit more of a kick.

Yes they are. That is absolutely the upgrade everybody is talking about. 4 holes means better atomization of the fuel giving you better fuel economy and better throttle response.

I did this upgrade on my '99. The only difference is '99-'01 requires injector part #0-280-155-784. '98 and older uses the 703 injectors.

Can't we use mustang injectors? I read somewhere about a guy that put them in. If thats the case they would be everywhere.
