My cherokee leaks coolant, but it only happens when it's really hot outside. If it's like 85+ a puddle of coolant will leak out when I park it. It doesn't leak if the temperature is under 85.

The leak seems to be coming from the rear of the engine (In between the engine and the coolant reservoir)

This happened to me ended up being the heater control valve, its like 40 bucks and only 4 hoses into it simple fix the plastic just cracks over time, hope that was your issue.

Get your flashlight out and get dirty.....kinda hard for us to look. A coolant leak always leaves a tell-tale sign. If it is the HCV, u can eliminate it.....the factory eliminated it '97 up.

Eliminate that POS. Plug the vacuum line to it. You'll be fine and save some cash.

Like mentioned before Don't replace it! Eliminate it! It's a P.O.S. anyways and not needed.

The heater control valve was not only unnecessary, it was possibly the most poorly designed and manufactured part on the XJ. Plastic that ages terribly and then explodes to leave the driver with a tow/overheat, or worse.

Eliminate it.

How about explodes and sprays hot coolant all over Cruiser54 when he moves the heater hoses a bit to access the dipstick? I HATE those things.
