Question Going to u-pull-it

I plan on going to our local pick-n-pull and I don't have anything in paticular that i am looking for. I need just a few little things, for now, for my (new to me) xj.

My question is:

Without carring your whole toolbox, what tools would you take with you? What are the most common ones(wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) that you would be able to get the little things. I'm not talking about pulling stuff like front and rear ends, motors, etc. Things like headliners(which I'm looking for) switches and stuff that you see that you think you need.

Thanks

Metric wrenches and sockets (10mm 12mm etc) flat head and a Philips should do it. Pliers helps to...Tj

flashlight.. for screw drivers I prefer a bit kit that has star bits, and so on..that way you can tackle any screw.

As long as you don't damage other parts you aren't taking then it's all good. Although damaging parts you aren't buying isn't cool. Especially if they are useful ones.

One of my biggest issues with those types of places. Anytime I look for something, some other A-hat has destroyed it trying to get at what he wanted!!

Yep it's annoying as heck..I went looking for something at one and some idiot instead of unplugging just cut the wires....instead of unbolting the brake lines just cut em..Very annoying..

You can carry a good amout of tools in a soft sided tool bag. I take Cresent wrench, torx driver & sockets, Junk flat head, good flat head, philips head, utility knife, flashlight. If you have a cordless screwdriver(make sure its charged) Metric sockets and small ratchet w/extensions. That should do you for interior & trim stuff.

I use a soft side bag as my carry all. I go into the garage and decide what I need from my tool boxes, then put those tools in the bag. I generally bring more than I need lol. I do the same thing working on cars at home. the bag keeps everything together while wrenching, and I can leave the tools in there over night if need be until I get a chance to clean them and put them up.

I was lucky enough to find a cheater pipe sitting on the ground (old steering linkage) but with just a 3/8 ratchet and sockets you might be in trouble. Just think about what you are going to get and go from there really. I was trying to get a reciever hitch and I should have brought a 1/2 socket set and breaker bar, but I was playin' hooky from work and made a last minute decision.
