Going to be doing U-joints on a YJ D-30 tomorrow
Okay... I'm going to be teaching a friend who is new YJ owner how to do his own U-joints. He is a semi-professional photographer. He has more wrapped up in his camera, than I do in my Jeep.
Anyhow... anyone want a specific picture of anything? This guy loves taking pictures, and he really wants to learn more about his Jeep.
Kyle and Blue, yes I do plan on creating a write-up of how to do it. The process for a YJ D-30 is exactly the same as a XJ/MJ/ZJ.

Oh yeah this is sweet..I'd love pics of the process of tear down and actually swapping the u-joints then reassembly.. Although that's a whole lot of work.. Any writeup with pics will be great..

Whowey do you find that the leaf springs make any sort of difference in the u-joint change? Did you tack weld the caps in place like I do? Can't look at the write up yet it is still in the submission phase.

There's no difference. The axle is setup the same way as our coil-sprung dana 30's, except for the CAD system. I helped my buddy do his on his yj last year.
