getting stuck in 4wd

getting stuck in 4wd
so it seems like my 4wd wont disengage on my 88. but when i get up to about 15 or 20 mph it clunks out. i was thinking it was the vacuum lines on the front axle but they are hooked up. any ideas

This is a common thing, a lot of guys when the go to disengage it the will put the handle down and put it in reverse for like 10 or 15 feet then u should be good
