Default getting oilpan off

OK this is getting the best of me. I've had screwdrivers, prybars and other tools I thought would work but still can't get the oilpan separated from the engine. Any other tips you guys might have to get this pan out. It's a 91 Xj with 221,xxx miles and I don't think the pan has ever been removed. Thanks in advance.

Using a medium sized straight slot screwdriver and a hammer, you'll just have to CAREFULLY work your way along both of the long sides of the pan seal. Stick the screwdriver in between the pan and block and smack it with the hammer until you actually see it penetrate. Then GENTLY pry up and down. Pull the screwdriver out move over about an inch and do it again. If you get too ugly with the prying too soon, you'll break the screwdriver tip off. This does require some patience but it will work.
