Sorrry its a 4.0 with a manual transmission. Is gear rato same front and rear the same and do they have to be. As far as I know the jeep was stock when I bought it I drove it for years as family car. Now it's my play toy, I am running 32x11.5 inch tires with 4.5 inch lift I only dive it off road. Do I need to change gear ratio? How can I tell what I have in the frount. I am assuming it is a Dana 30 but I don't know.

Front and rear axle are and have to be the same if you have 4.0 motor you have 3.07 gears. With 32" tires you should be running at least 4.10 gears, your front axle is a D30 as in all XJs.
