Actually from what I'm reading, that test should yield 11-15k... so at 16+ I may have found my issue (or just one of many!) For anyone else trying to test their coil pack, this is a great thread: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/tes...l-rail-204328/

It was addressed in the link you provided. But I wanted to reiterate. Any ohm # the FSM provides is followed by "at room temperature " I am not an electrical guru but at any other temperature than "room temperature " will yield a different resistance and giv a false result. Resistance increase as temperature increase but I can't tell you to what degree.

Excellent point, kdexter. The coil pack was probably hot when I did it. I need to redo and do the "primary" test as people seem to think that's a more reliable indicator.

The jeep stalled on me twice today and was having issues restarting. Since these are the latest symptoms I've had consistent with a bad CPS/CKS I went ahead and replaced. So far, good. I'm waiting to see if this changes anything about the gas smell and throwing random evap codes. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

I have an 01 also. I have a lean condition code. Replaced upstream O2 sensor. Still have code. Still have had smell. Smell is mostly at stop lights. I'm doing an exhaust/intake manifold gasket today in hopes of eliminating the code and smell. I'll let you know how it goes. Might be something to consider.

Default manifold gasket

Yes! I replaced the exhaust manifold and gasket a few weeks ago after I started feeling real sleepy and sick on long drives. Turns out one of the brace arms on the rear exhaust manifold broke, I think it was twisting and the gasket was failing. Still the leak was quiet and the car ran great, but I DO think that was where my gas fume smell was coming from. Weird there wasn't more exhaust smell. So far no more gas smell, plenty of other issues though! Let me know what you find!
