Default Gage Cluster problems

Ok my Gage Cluster is ****ed, when im driving my airbag light will come on and then my RPM's will drop to 0 and same with the Speed gage, and some times the whole Gage Cluster will just stop working intill i push the dash. now what the fukc it happing?

Common problem. Pull the cluster and clean the electrical connectors.

I had answered a similar thread on this recently. I had cleaned the connectors before and also pulled the female parts out for a tighter fit but after a couple of bumps the same thing would happen. So IMO this is the best way to fix it.
I have a 98 XJ, had this problem for years. I could push the cluster in by hand and it would come alive again. BUT.... I have now fixed it! you have to take the dash apart and pull the cluster out, you'll see the 2 green connections ( very loose ) I tapped some shims just behind the clips to stabilize it and bring it out just a bit. ( i wish I had taken pics!!!)
it's a poor design, even with the cluster in the connections were always free to move at the back.
So the connectors are now more forward to give a tighter connection and also more secure so they don't slowly move away with every bump.
