Fuel Rail Discharge, need help!
Hi All,
Continuing on my 99 XJ quest, I have decided to replace the stock injectors with 12-hole injectors. I have seen the videos and feel comfortable on doing this, how ever my fuel rail seems to be different that any in videos I have watched. See the pictures below, there seems to be no pressure release valve on my fuel rail. There is this silver cap in the center but I'm not sure if this is it. Hoping someone can guide me on the correct procedure to depressurize the system.
Thanks in advance!

That silver cap is a fuel pressure dampener. IMO, it was only added to make the engineers happy. The only time ive heard about that thing was because it was leaking. You can replace the entire rail with one with a shrader valve if you like. I found an old thread concerning that dampener, on another Jeep forum, by CCken.

Thanks for the reply! I did manage to find it in a manual on line. It recommends you remove the gas cap and the fuse for the fuel pump and start the engine till it stalls. This worked for me, no pressure in the line when I disconnected the fuel line!
