So while working on my 92 4.0 xj I unplug the bat cable so as not to drain the battery but connect it once in a while to start it and exercise the motor but all of a sudden the fuel pump isn't coming on. It was real loud before so I can tell it's not running. I swapped out relays, bypassed the ballast resistor. Is there a fuse I can check that I'm not finding? I cut my abs sensors off the front axle because I'm going chromos, that couldn't have anything to do with it right?

If your fuel pump was making loud noise it was going bad . I would change the pump .
