Fuel Gauge Bounce

Fuel Gauge Bounce
96 Cherokee 4wd (np231) 4.0L Auto.
The fuel gauge seems to bounce around alot, like the gas is sloshing a tremendous amount, while normal driving. Is this common? (I have the basic gauge cluster with only Gas/Speed/Idiot Gauges in it, so not sure if that makes a difference).
I'm about to swap/upgrade the cluster to the one without idiot gauges, but want to make sure if there's something I can do to resolve this, that I do it during this swap time.
