Default Fuel Gauge

Hi all, haven't ever needed to post a question here before for two reasons; this forum has most answers tucked away and the other reason is our Cherokees are fairly bomb proof.

A few posts relate to my first ever issue but I thought i'd start afresh to get direct answers if poss.

So if I park the car in the back garden for two days or more and use my motorbike to get to work, she wont start. When I say wont start i mean I'll crank and crank. It might splutter from time to time but it wont start. I'll then leave it for a minute or two and she'll fire straight up.

During the last episode of furious cranking the fuel gauge died although the fuel warning light still works as it should.

One thread I looked at suggested one might try disconnecting the CPS, then turn the ignition on to see if the gauge works, alas not, so Im assuming its not the CPS....?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Chris

Next time it happens, try unplugging the CPS and plugging it back in. Try again.
