3 minor issues
so i really want to start upgrading my xj (99) but im trying to squash all the minor issues before i do that, i should probably make separate posts for these but id figure id keep the spam down by doing it all in one post. the first problem is a new one, when i do a fresh start in the morning it starts up great, the issues is when i put it in reverse back outa my drive way and then put it back in drive it wants to stutter and die unless i immediately give it gas, im wondering if thiss is a trans issue because i have a brand new crank position sensor, IAC and throttle sensor, this problem just crept up and id like to solve it before it gets worse cause its never had this issue before. The next problem i want to solve is my windows have always had a fog issue from the inside, specifically the middle of the windshield this one small spot, normally not an issue but when it rains all my windows fog up like a mother ****er which is linked to problem number 3 i think that being i have a leak somewhere on the passenger side when it rains, i think up from the dash somewhere it looks like, i still have to tear into that, so does anyone know of any areas that tend to leak on these jeeps? i know there prone to there electrical gremlins but ive never heard of any water issues?

The fog on the inside of the windshield may be a leaking heater core.
It MIGHT be that the drain tube for the heater/AC unit is clogged up with organics. Here's where that is.

It can also run under the carpet.

If it smells like coolant when it's warmed up and you turn on the defroster that's a clue.

Has the trans ever been removed? I've seen issues of stalling in reverse caused by loose bolts holding the bell housing to the engine block. Not common, but easy enough to check. Also look at the wiring to the crank sensor and make sure it's not touching the exhaust manifold. Wiggle the wiring harness along the fuel rail and where it crosses to the firewall and see if it stumbles. Also don't assume the new parts are good, especially made in China.
