fuel compression
Ok so i was having some problems with my 89 cherokee... it would stall when it's under 2000rpm's and sometimes even turn off. I replaced fuel filter and used the injector cleaner about 3 times. I did a compression test and it sits at 32psi but when i turn the jeep off, psi goes straight to 0. i tried it on my friends 96 xj and it held it at 35 psi for a very long time. do i have a leak or do all 89's do this?

There is a one way check valve built into your fuel pump that should keep that pressure after the motor is turned off. That won't cause your stalling though. It will just make it so it takes longer for your XJ to start because the fuel is being pumped clear from the tank to the motor everytime you crank her up.

I will tell you this. When that check valve went bad in my XJ, I shortly there after replaced the fuel pump and all was well.
