Disco

Hey guys,

I've been living with this issue for far far too long. I've got a 2001 XJ that had an aftermarket keyless entry installed. About a year ago, the key fob went MIA so now I'm just using a key for entry. However, whenever I start the car, the interior lights flash (three sets of flashing each lasting about 15 seconds with 5 seconds in between). After these three sets, they all go off and the car functions as normal. There is a clicking noise that comes with the flashing. It sounds like the turn signals are going off at the steering column.

Imagine trying to go anywhere at night with your car looking like a disco party upon startup. Embarrassing!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start? I've tried searching but this seems a bit of a unique case.
