Drove thru a pothole and rattled my teeth today, now i am hearing a growling noise coming from the left front side. the noise gets louder as speed increases. also, changes when steering side to side. Most likely a hub bearing. where is a good place to buy one from? checked on line here in Winnipeg,Canada. and wow, 190.00 for the bearing assembly. does this seem too steep of a price? Anyone? thoughts? p.s. i do not want a used hub, cause you never know.
Thanks...
Thanks...

Also suggestion if you replace one replace the other and also replace the axle shaft u-joints at the same time.
Rockauto is a good place to look. Ebay hubs aren't a good avenue as you have no idea what the real quality is.

yeah, 190 is for the premium, white box is around 175.
but if you know someone that works/owns a shop, they can get them for about 140.
try partsource, i got a cheap one from crappy tire and went to partsource and they gave me a premium for the same price. don't know if it was a screwup on their behalf, but it was worth it.

check out crown automotive or quadratec. these are not something to skimp on on a vehicle with altered suspension/bigger wheels/tires.

Have to search through a little on quadratec cuz they have lots of stuff in all price ranges. Hope this helps

How about Timken bearings? i've done some checking and these along with SK or *** bearings seem to be above the industry standard. Now i have found an EBAY location, it's called Etopline. they have been on ebay since 2001 and have a 99.6% rating, they sell hubs/front comp/bushings/etc. NOW here's the KICKER!!!!!!! check it out, SAME TIMKEN part number from 2 different parts stores here in Winnipeg, they go for 190.00 [Canadian funds], how about $48.91!!!!!! SAME PART #, Located here just outside Toronto. shipping is 14.99, total for 2 hubs, delivered to my house for 130.00, taxes in. I've e-mailed and got a response back in under 30 mins just to confirm part numbers and that i'll be getting a Timken hub. 100% guarantee and 30 days to return if not completely happy. reading the comments on the site, 99.6% says it all. Guess where i'm getting these from? YOU check it out, give me your response!

I have always had good sucess with NAPA wheel bearings since about 15 years ago. When I bought a cheaper set and had to replace them within 6 months. Unit bearing are a little different tolerances than a regular wheel bearing.
