Front sway bar probs
1 Attachment(s)
Poop. Driver side sway bar bushing gave up. Got the bracket off and the front-most nut out of the passenger side bracket but I'm guessing the brackets have weld mounted nuts because pssngr side back-most nut is loosened but won't come out. Thought I'd try to cheat it by just doing driver side bushing, but my unibody is sitting on the bar with no wiggle room at all (where I'm pointing in pic) but just wheel-side edge, if that makes sense.
I'm lost and I'm guessing this is a really horrible sign? I'm really tempted to try a pry bar to squeeze that bushing in, but not sure what else that might wreck. Thanks in advance for mercy and any advice:) |
You're not going to hurt anything by prying on the sway bar, just don't slip and end up in suture city. :D

Thanks Turbo, I'll give it a shot.

yeah to get at the nuts, you gotta take the bumper off
i just swapped my larger sway from my 92 to my wifes 98 all the bolts from both xjs came out...used impact was expecting one of the captive nuts to screw me, but i got lucky i guess |
