Front and Rear Jacking Points

Where are the front and rear jacking points? I have a manual, but I am still confused. The pictures show (to me atleast) that the front and rear jacking points are just on the front and rear axles, and I am thinking I am wrong :dunno:.

Nope you are correct just put the bottle jack right under the axle tube

for mine in the front i put the jacks in between the tabs of my lca's, its a perfect fit. just space them out far enough so the weight is evenly distributed. if you want extra support or need to get under there further you can put taller jacks on the frame rail.

O ok thanks.

Yeah, get used to jacking at the axle tubes. If you lift your jeep the only way you can lift by the frame will be with a Highlift....and I wouldn't do that unless I had a solid set of rock sliders under it. Rocker panels on our XJs fold up like pop can aluminum for some reason.

You only have to use one jack right? Cause it shows the jacking point is off to the side of the axle.

XJ?2010 01-28-2009 05:53 PM

yep just one side

Not a problem

Yeah, go just inboard of your lower control arms on the front axle and just in board of your lower shock mounts on the rear axle.
