For some reason my front passenger door will not lock or unlock with my key. But it will lock/unlock when I use my keyfob or my switch in the door. Not really a big issue because I really don't use my key to lock or unlock my doors but I'm just curious at why it does this. My drivers side door, by the way, does work with the key. Could the previous owner or dealership maybe have changed the lock because when I put the key in it won't even budge left or right. I wouldn't be surprised if they did because there are a couple things the dealership didn't tell us, like the heater core not working or the speaker in the passenger door being blown out (I think the wire might be shredded, Cherokees are renowned for doing that). Anyway, please give me your opinion on why my key won't even move in the passenger key slot.

Mine is just the opposite. I always assumed it was something the last owner screwed up and haven't been in the door to figure it out yet.
