Default Front Output Seal - 242 T-Case

ok guys..I ordered my seal and went to put in today. I pulled the front driveshaft. Then removed the yoke from the t-case. And from what I understood from an ealier post is the seal slides over the shaft and into place. Well my seal ripped. I may have put it on backwards but I really dont think so. Heres a picture of the seal if you guys can tell me what side goes into the t-case and what side goes against the yoke for the driveshaft. It would help. Or maybe Im doing this wrong all together.

I installed it with this side to the yoke

Thanks for the help guys

ha yeah i used a one foot breaker and i had the chain off the transfer case so i had to rig something up to stop the yoke from spinning when turning on the nut, if that makes any sense, which just made matters worse, i sprayed it good before i put it back on and it went on easy

You're kidding right?
There's a lip on it, that should be a dead give-away that it can only go on one way.

yea well thats the way i put it up and it didnt seem to fit right. I couldnt get the yoke on far enough to bolt it back onto the output shaft. I cant afford to buy any more of these seals and I already rippped 1 and have to get another new one tomorrow to replace it. after I get the yoke off is there anything else I need to do to get it on?
