front left noise
I have a strange squeaking noise at my left side of my xj. I asked a bud of mine about it and thought it was the u joint and he didnt think so but thought it might be the wheel bearing. I know my brake pads are good with plenty of brake pad. But sometimes when I depress the pedal it squeaks and sometimes when I am not on the pedal it squeaks.
What gives? Any help here is great!

The upper bushing on my sway bar end link does that. I got used to it. Don't have time to replace it yet. I would check that and any other things in that area. Make sure everything is solid.

I what that sound is and that is not it. This is more of a metal on metal sound not a bushing sound. Thanks for your help!

could be the brake pads if they have a sharp edge on them or if they are semimetalic pads they may have a larger piece of metal making the noise. also since you said it sometimes changes with the brakes, check any brake hardware and make sure its not contacting the rotor as well as the backing plate

theres a hole bunch it could be
id try and figure out a situation where you can make it squeak without driving, just by turning the wheel.
or if you need to be rolling try just rolling back and forth in a driveway.
then have a buddy go under up front and turn the wheel and have him listen for it and with a flashlight and if necesary some sort of stethescope you'll be able to isolate it.
if not then get a louder sound system and dont worry about it
