Default Front driveshaft?

What is the current preferred brand of replacement universal joints for it? Got a bit of a chirping in mine since the ~2" lift.

Simply remove the front drive shaft and take it for a test drive. Then you will know for sure.

We had sub-zero temps for about a week. Then today it hit 63f in my town. It is to be -8f by tomorrow night.

Precision is good too.
Make sure what ever you get has grease fittings.
Avoid the lifetime non greasable units.
Buddy msg'd me last night broke an axle when the cheap durakraft ones in the axle broke took the axle with it.
Was looking for another axle.

Thankfully not as bad as last week though. Have a garage but even though it's not heated I can use it. Coldest I saw on my weather station last week was -2 w/-20.7 wind chill.

Yep. I'll go with jordan96xj's Spicer recommendation. I always upgrade to better than if not equal to OEM parts. Hope your buddy learned this from his expensive experience. And if anyone's not sure what to get just ask here.

So it quit the noise today. Been 1500 miles since I did the suspension. Guessing that with even a small lift it caused the u-joint/u-joints to act up until they reseated. I've done a lot of lifts on many different vehicles over the years with this one on an XJ being the least lift. They sure seem to be temperamental when it comes to lifting them.

One of the reasons I haven't lifted mine yet... just sitting on 235s.
Wanted a little lull in the parts replacement department for a bit before chasing my tail of countless things to change after the lift itself. lol

I was hesitant too but my suspension needed replaced. Especially in the rear. I'm running 235's also and had/have no plans on going larger so I did the Up Country lift. Ended up with around a 2" lift. If anything I wouldn't have been surprised if it had a bit of vibration from the rear driveshaft but it's fine. Not complaining at all and would do it again. I will say that the members here who have said that the results of lifting XJ's can vary one from another even when using the same components are spot on.
